Kitchener to host Ontario launch of World Vision's AIDS awareness exhibit
KITCHENER, ON, Nov. 27 /CNW/ - The World Vision One Life Experience, a
186 square-metre (2,000 square-foot) interactive African village, will launch
on Wednesday, November 28 at Your Kitchener Market.
The goal of the educational exhibit is to raise awareness about the
plight of children affected by AIDS in Africa. Organizers say they hope the
exhibit will draw local residents throughout the 11-day event, especially on
World AIDS Day on December 1st.
World Vision chose the Kitchener/Waterloo/Guelph/Cambridge area as the
first Ontario stop on the exhibit's Canadian tour to thank local supporters
who give so generously to the organization's work. Area residents sponsor
10,950 children in developing countries - the most of any region in Ontario.
Visitors can learn about the impact of HIV and AIDS through the stories
of four African children told with captivating audio and powerful photography.
The One Life Experience exhibit helps people move beyond the AIDS statistics
to an understanding of why the pandemic is the greatest humanitarian crisis of
