Get Inspired Over Lunch
TORONTO, Jan. 19 /CNW/ - In a time of change, challenge and economic
uncertainty, the Deloitte Women of Influence Luncheon Series is celebrating
its 15th season. Providing the opportunity for women to get inspired and be
influenced by great success stories, the series launches in high spirit with
two-time Canadian Olympic medalist, Tonya Verbeek on February 10 at the Metro
Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto.
The Deloitte Women of Influence Luncheon Series presents Canada's most
accomplished and influential women sharing stories of professional success,
personal triumph and how they have worked their way to the top. Events are
across six cities - Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary, Vancouver and for the
first time this year, Halifax - in an environment conducive to the ongoing
professional and personal advancement of Canadian women in business.
"The luncheon series provides women with the opportunity to get
inspired," said Carolyn Lawrence, President, Women of Influence Inc. "We
emphasize that the women being honoured in the Series are keen to fill the
gap, and role, of mentors to the growing number of women in the workforce
today. In a survey to our database, "mentors" top the list of most wanted,
least available resource for professional women looking to advance. By
profiling these women of influence, our audience gains access to a valuable
and inspiring resource; successful women."
The luncheon series was originally launched in 1994 and has since
profiled over 150 accomplished Canadian women - among them Belinda Stronach,
Christine Day, Debbie Travis and Heather Reisman - and inspired over 100,000
attendees through its unique program.
In addition to Tonya Verbeek in Toronto on February 10th, speaking about
"Living the Dream", other top influential female speakers already lined up for
