Sixth Energy Star Award for Company in Seven Years
OTTAWA, ON, May 27 /CNW/ - This week, Natural Resources Canada named
Whirlpool Canada the 2009 Energy Star Manufacturer of the Year.
This prestigious award recognizes the exceptional work done by Whirlpool
Canada in producing and promoting energy-efficient products.

The Manufacturer of the Year Award recognizes the Canadian leader who
best addresses the "Five A's" of market transformation: availability,
awareness, accessibility, affordability and acceptability.
Key achievements by the company that led to the award win include:
- Offering an unprecedented number of models, new innovations and
brands, including Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana, and KitchenAid.
- Demonstrating exceptional leadership in Energy Star training efforts,
emphasizing Energy Star in all internal training materials and
external training, including outreach to Whirlpool's national retail
In addition, more than 60% of all Whirlpool products are Energy Star
Whirlpool Canada is a subsidiary of Whirlpool Corporation. Collectively,
the Whirlpool Corporation family, including Maytag, has won 23 ENERGY STAR
Awards since 1998, three times as many as any other winner.
