in partnership with the Canadian Farm Business Management Council and
Saskatchewan Agrivision Corporation Inc. are taking the Agricultural Change &
Opportunity workshop to farm advisors and farmers in Red Deer on February 6,
2008, to provide the important information needed to recognize future
opportunities for the province's agricultural sector.
At no time in history has the evolution in agricultural been so rapid and
dramatic. Canada's west has gone from being the breadbasket of the world to
one which is facing a serious crisis in its livestock sector and competition
from lower cost grain producers from a number of countries around the world.
Canada has clearly become too dependent on one customer, and that customer is
in financial distress. There are a number of alternatives that will reduce our
exposure to the U.S. currency and open up new potential markets. We do not
