WINNIPEG, Dec. 6 /CNW/ - Ernst & Young have completed their Review of
Consumer/Retailer Prize Claim Processes. This review was initiated by Western
Canada Lottery Corporation to provide further depth to an earlier report on
prize payout processes. The Ernst & Young report includes a retrospective
review, as well as a look at new player protection measures.
Ernst & Young offered recommendations regarding additional procedural
improvements, all of which are underway or currently implemented at WCLC.
Some of the more significant player protection measures now being
introduced include new terminals that sound a winning tone whenever a ticket
is checked; new Customer Display screens that show players whether their
tickets are winners or non-winners and any prize amount won; and self-serve
Ticket Checkers that are being expanded to every retail location to give
players another means to check their own tickets.
The Ernst & Young Review and further information on prize claim
enhancements are available on the Corporation's website at
