Vote Now for The 2009 JUNO Awards Talent Search Contest on 91.7 The Bounce (Edmonton) and Energy 101.5 (Calgary)

    TORONTO, Feb. 3 /CNW/ - CHUM radio stations 91.7 The Bounce (Edmonton)
and Energy 101.5 (Calgary) in association with The Canadian Academy of
Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) announced today the Top 10 finalists in
the all-new promotion giving aspiring Canadian musicians the chance to be part
of The 2009 JUNO Awards Weekend in Vancouver, B.C., March 26-29. Voting for
the musicians and their original songs opens today online at or through February 13,

    "91.7 The Bounce and Energy 101.5 are happy to be a part of the
first-ever promotion to send two lucky winners on a trip of a lifetime to
perform during JunoFest," said James Stuart, Vice President & General Manager,
CHUM Radio Alberta. "We know first hand the amazing talent that exists in our
market, with rising stars such as Kreesha Turner and Shiloh having launched
their careers after winning our radio station's talent searches in Edmonton.
We are looking forward to great things from the winners of this contest."

    Each Grand Prize winner (one winner from Edmonton and one winner from
Calgary) will receive two round-trip tickets to Vancouver to partake in JUNO
Awards Weekend Events, including the opportunity to perform as part of
JunoFest - the showcase of local, regional and national acts, with established
and developing artists sharing the stage.

    Plus, the two winners will walk the ETALK Red Carpet before attending,
THE 2009 JUNO AWARDS broadcast on Sunday, March 29.

    This unique contest, which began in December 2008, allowed for solo
artists to submit original songs online at either or They were then judged by music industry members, and the
Top 10 selections have the potential to win the ultimate The JUNO Awards
Weekend experience. Submissions from the Top 10 finalists from each city will
be posted online today at the respective websites for 91.7 The Bounce
(Edmonton) and Energy 101.5 (Calgary) with the listeners deciding the eventual
winners. Voting opens online today and closes on February 13, 2009.
