33,000 Calgarians come to party to a host of big name TALENT and
CALGARY, Aug. 10 /CNW/ - The heat returned to Alberta this weekend and
with it, Canada's hottest music festival - Virgin Festival Alberta! 33,000
festival-goers packed WinSport Canada's Canada Olympic Park on Saturday and
Sunday to 23 awesome acts including A-list headliners PEARL JAM and BILLY
TALENT and a ton of experiences.

Day one highlights included the mesmerizing and eagerly awaited
headlining set by legendary alt-rockers Pearl Jam; Thunderheist's groovy
electronic performance in the afternoon; Bullfrog's power inflatable frog;
festival-goers showing a little extra flesh to Toronto trio The Cliks; Virgin
Mobile Angels keeping everyone cool with free freezies and festival-goers
catching a speedy ride back up the hill on the chairlift at the end of the
night - a first for a Virgin Festival!
Day two highlights included the Toast and Jam winner Julianna With T Rex
Step set; Virgin Festival faves Metric again wooing festival-goers with an
A-list performance; festival-goers chilling out in between sets at Xbox's
gaming zone; carnivale inspired stilt walkers continuing to entertain the
thousands; Edmonton natives Shout Out Out Out Out rocking the CJAY 92 stage
and Canadian rockers Billy Talent delivering an awesome closing set.

us put on another great show. The Park gave festival-goers a totally
unbeatable new experience," added Bridge. "The ski-hills created a great
natural amphitheatre for amazing acoustics plus an incredible viewing platform
to see the whole show. There wasn't a bad seat in the house!"
