STORY SUMMARY: Twelve Champions representing Children's Miracle Network
(CMN) will be honoured tomorrow with a luncheon and visit to Rideau Hall that
paid tribute to their bravery in battling, and overcoming life threatening
illnesses and injuries. As ambassadors of CMN affiliated hospitals, the
Champions will come together to show their collective strength of spirit and
inspiration to the millions of children treated each year in Canadian
children's hospitals. The trip to Rideau Hall, where the Champions will meet
Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaelle Jean, Governor General of
Canada, will be followed by a luncheon.
The Champions will be leaving March 31st to visit Walt Disney World for a
live concert, to meet with other champs from across North America and of
course to enjoy a few roller coaster rides! The children and their families
visit Ottawa en route to Orlando, Florida, where they will participate in the
annual "Children's Miracle Celebration" taping. Footage will be broadcast
June 2nd and 3rd during the Children's Miracle Network Telethon, the world's
largest annual television fundraiser.
