Vicwest Income Fund Appoints New Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

    OAKVILLE, ON, June 5 /CNW/ - Vicwest Income Fund ("Vicwest" or the
"Fund") (TSX: VIC.UN) announced today the appointment of John Slattery as its
new Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer effective July 16,
2007. Vicwest is executing a strategic plan to increase unit value through
investments in operating efficiencies, new product lines and complementary
business acquisitions. Mr. Slattery will play an important role in Vicwest's
future success by leading the Fund's mergers and acquisitions and investor
relations initiatives. He will also be responsible for Vicwest's finance, risk
management and regulatory compliance functions.
    Mr. Slattery has over 17 years of experience creating value primarily in
the manufacturing sector at multi-division and/or multi-national companies
such as Jannock Limited, Jenisys Engineered Products, Corporate Express
Canada, and most recently at Armtec Infrastructure Income Fund, where he
served as Senior Vice President, Finance and CFO. He also worked seven years
at Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers), where he became a Chartered
    Vicwest's Executive Chairman and Interim CEO Bryan Held commented, "The
