Victory Celebrations Honour Medal-Winning Athletes Nightly During PANAMANIA Festivities at Nathan Phillips Square

TORONTO, July 8, 2015 /CNW/ - For medal-winning athletes at the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games, the thrill of victory will extend beyond the official podium with nightly Victory Celebrations, presented by CIBC, during PANAMANIA Live @ Nathan Phillips Square, the free outdoor festival featuring live music and entertainment.

Beginning at 7 p.m. from July 11 to 25 during the Pan Am Games and August 8 to 12 during the Parapan Am Games, the public is invited to cheer for the champions of the day as they are honoured on stage in the colorful and energized surroundings at Nathan Phillips Square. This public celebration of the athletes' achievements during an international multi-sport Games is unique to the TORONTO 2015 Games.

The Victory Celebrations will combine the pageantry of an official ceremony and the energy of a street party to kick off the night's headline entertainment. Fresh off their wins, athletes from diverse sports and countries will take the stage to greet fans and receive official gifts from special presenters. Inspiring video highlights of the day's competitions and a salute to personal moments of victory from celebrities and special guests will round out this special event.

PANAMANIA Live @ Nathan Phillips Square is presented daily from July 10 to 26 (Pan Am Games) and August 7 to 12 (Parapan Am Games) and is co-produced with the City of Toronto. Each day's free festivities will include live music and entertainment and will culminate with nightly fireworks.

Unprecedented in scale, PANAMANIA will feature more than 1,300 artists in 250 performances and exhibitions across Toronto from July 10 to August 15. The festival will showcase the diverse cultures and artistic excellence of Ontario, Canada and the Americas through music, theatre, dance and more, with free and ticketed events.

PANAMANIA has been financially assisted by the Community Celebrations Fund, a program of the Government of Canada, the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund, a program of the Government of Ontario through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, administered by the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund Corporation, and the City of Toronto.
