VANCOUVER, Dec. 3 /CNW/ - The Salvation Army's Vancouver Adopt-a-Family
Christmas program is still in need of sponsors - especially for single parent
families with one or two children. "These are the little families that really
need some help," said Major George Evans, Executive Director for The Salvation
Army Vancouver Community and Family Services.
Over 300 financially challenged families have applied for Christmas aid
as of Friday, Nov 30th - the success of the program is largely dependent on
sponsorships. "Last year we had 426 families by the time program registration
ended in mid-December, so you can see how great the need is and how important
our sponsors are," said Major Evans. "We're hoping individuals, groups or
companies will consider adopting a family, and providing Christmas and hope to
the less fortunate in our community."
There is still a week to register...
