Valdez Gold Inc. Announces the Initiation of a Diamond Drill Programme on its Gaby II Claim in Chihuahua State, Mexico

    TORONTO, April 17 /CNW/ - Valdez Gold Inc. (VAZ - TSX-V) (the "Company")
announces the initiation of a diamond drill programme on its Gaby II (Los
Jarros) claim in Chihuahua State, Mexico.
    The initial drill programme will consist of six (6) diamond drill holes
(1,200-1,500 m) designed to test a significant gold-in-soil anomaly on the
property. The gold-in-soil anomaly (greater than 150 ppb) trends
north-northwest, is 600 m long and open ended, and varies between 300 m and
500 m in width. Within the broad, greater than 150 ppb gold-in-soil anomaly,
there are four distinct zones with greater than 450 ppb Au. Two of these zones
trend north-northwest, one northeast and the other north-northeast.
    The gold-in-soil anomaly is coincident with significant silica, alunite
and kaolinite alteration anomalies that are spatially associated with
northwest trending structures.
    Exploration field work is supervised by Colin Carey, MAusIMM, and
over-seen by Michael Skead, MAusIMM, President & CEO of the Company. Michael
