EDMONTON, Aug. 31 /CNW/ - With near record levels of inventory in the
pre-owned Edmonton home market, one Realtor is implementing a unique marketing
strategy to help a client get their home sold.
The Countdown Auction is a marketing technique that Steve Sedgwick (a
Realtor with Royal LePage Noralta) originally conceived a few years ago and to
his knowledge has never been implemented in Alberta. Effective September 1,
2007 the property Steve has listed at 18414-96a Avenue will be reduced in
price by $1,000 each day until the home has been sold. In addition to this
marketing strategy the seller will include a $10,000 home theatre package if
the home is sold by September 10, 2007.
The home was officially appraised at $385,000 in May of 2007 and has
undergone substantial renovations including the fully refinished basement.
Originally listed on July 14, 2007 the 1002 square foot bi-level with three
bedrooms and two full bathrooms entered the market when sales were slowing
down. It has since been reduced to the current price of $375,000 but is likely
getting lost amongst the numerous properties that prospective buyers have to
