fall, TVO reaches for the stars and beyond as it engages a global audience in

As the presenting media partner and exclusive broadcaster for Perimeter
Institute's Quantum to Cosmos: Ideas for the Future Festival (Q2C) from
October 15 to 25, TVO will provide extensive, groundbreaking coverage of
festival events for broadcast and through live streaming on www.tvo.org and
As part of the Q2C program, TVO brings its flagship current affairs
program The Agenda with Steve Paikin to the Institute to present five live
broadcasts on future trends in science. TVO's Big Ideas, TVOKids and Your
Voice will also be on location to engage viewers of all ages in an in-depth
examination of science.
This season like every season, TVO builds on its commitment to bring
innovative, educational media to its audience through wide-ranging,
thought-provoking drama, film, documentaries and current affairs programming
all supported and enhanced at tvo.org.
In other highlights of the 2009-2010 programming year:
- A new science documentary strand Tuesday nights at 10 pm launches in
conjunction with The Agenda with Steve Paikin's Q2C live broadcasts.
- TVO presents its first live, interactive TV-Web event of the season
Wednesday September 30 at 10 pm with the world premiere of A Mind like
Mine, which follows two young adults coping with attention deficit
hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). In a live webcast immediately following
the documentary, TVO's Cheryl Jackson and a panel of experts discuss
issues raised in the film and answer viewer questions.
- The world premiere of the four-part series Empire of the Word airs
Wednesdays November 25 to December 16 at 10 pm. Presented by Alberto
Manguel and based on his History of Reading, the series is an eye-
opening journey into the collective history and future of reading.
Leading up to the series premiere, watch for the late October launch
of the Empire of the Word interactive website available through
tvo.org, featuring an alternate reality game that immerses players in
the world of reading.
