Trans-Orient Petroleum Provides Corporate Update

    VANCOUVER, June 26 /CNW/ - Trans-Orient Petroleum Ltd. (OTCBB: TOPLF)
announces that Dr. David Bennett has resigned as a Director and as Chairman of
the Company. Dr. Bennett will, however, remain a technical advisor and will
continue to work closely with Trans-Orient on its exploration programs.
    "The board wishes to extend its thanks to Dr. Bennett for his valuable
contribution to the board, and I look forward to a newly defined working
relationship," commented Garth Johnson, Trans-Orient's Chief Executive. "I am
