Awards celebrate the outstanding voluntary contribution
by CMA Ontario members to the wider community
TORONTO, Oct. 31 /CNW/ - CMA Ontario, and its 20,000 members, is proud to
announce that Eran Goldenberg, CMA, and Vice President of Finance at Scott
Associates Architects, is named a recipient of the Society's 2007 "Community
Established in 1990, the CMA Ontario Community Service Award recognizes
the meritorious voluntary service of members, and seeks to encourage all
members in their commitment to community service.
This special honour is bestowed on members who have demonstrated the
attributes of selflessness and kindness for the benefit of others. Award
recipients are nominated by fellow CMAs and approved by the Ontario Board of
Governors, who have recognized their outstanding sustained service to their
Each Community Service Award (CSA) recipient selects a charity, or
charities, of their choice to receive $1,000 in the CSA recipient's name.
Mr. Goldenberg was nominated for a 2007 award because of his leadership
as an executive director of "Canstruction Toronto"
(www.canstructiontoronto.com). Established in 1999, Canstruction Toronto is a
competition that involves teams of architects, engineers, designers and
students that attend schools of Architecture, Engineering and Design that
compete against one another by building and designing structures made entirely
from canned and bag food. The food used to build the structures is donated
after the competition to the Daily Bread Food Bank in Toronto.
This project provides the largest single annual food donation to the
Daily Bread Food Bank in Toronto. The 2006 event collected a record 62,000
pounds of food; in the previous seven years, 232,000 pounds of food have been
donated to help people struggling with hunger..
Mr. Goldenberg has also served in the community as a member of the board
for Orchestra Toronto. In regard to the Certified Management Accountants of
Ontario, he volunteered three years as a member of the Complaints Committee.
Mr. Goldenberg has selected The Daily Bread Food Bank in Toronto to
receive his contribution
