Toronto Hydro Reminds Customers to Enjoy the Easter Holiday Off-Peak!

TORONTO, April 21 /CNW/ - As the days get longer and spring finally arrives, Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited (Toronto Hydro) is reminding its Time-of-Use (TOU) customers that electricity prices on the upcoming holiday weekend are at OFF-PEAK rates - the lowest electricity price - all day.

The following dates are designated OFF-PEAK periods:

  • Friday, April 22
  • Saturday, April 23
  • Sunday, April 24

Time-of-Use rates are designed to encourage customers to shift their electricity use to off-peak periods; this helps reduce strain on the grid for periods when electricity consumption is at its peak.

Customers interested in learning more about their electricity consumption can sign up for Toronto Hydro's TOU website ( to view their personal electricity usage on an hourly, daily and weekly basis. The data is updated as recently as the previous day. We've also added new usage alerts, which are e-mailed to customers to help them track and predict their electricity use.
