Toronto Hydro issues Public Safety Alert as a result of Storm

TORONTO, Aug. 21 /CNW/ - As a result of yesterday's severe weather storm,
there are numerous downed wires, which crews are addressing as quickly as
possible. Some of these wires may be "live" which can cause serious injury if
a person comes into contact with them. In some cases, it may be some time
before Toronto Hydro crews can attend to these wires. Pedestrians are urged to
stay well clear of downed wires.
Residents who are without power are reminded to turn off stoves and other
appliances to avoid creating dangerous conditions in the home should power be
restored while they are out of the house or apartment. Residents should not
leave candles unattended.
