TORONTO, Dec. 13 /CNW/ - The countdown to the holidays has begun, and the
Bay invites Canadians to enjoy the magic of the season while they shop for all
the people on their list. The Bay offers holiday shoppers everything from
fragrances, to 'a Christmas story' set of four egg-nog mugs, not to mention a
large selection of ornaments, decorations and everything in between.

        1. The Bay's Christmas Street department features ornaments, trees,
garland, lights, nutcrackers, stockings and decorative
accessories. Whether you're starting fresh or just putting the
final touches on your holiday décor, the Bay's Christmas Street,
is sure to make any space feel and look festive.

        2. Animated Christmas windows at the Toronto downtown location,
featuring five windows filled with a Victorian themed Christmas
with Santa, his elves, the North Pole and even the town square on
Christmas Eve. A tradition since 1914, the holiday windows sends
on lookers away with nostalgic and warm sentiments.

        3. One-stop shopping and convenience: from plasma televisions to Be
Bratz dolls, I-Pods and even Jones New York cashmere sweaters, you
only need one store to find everything on your list. For the
holidays, beauty at the Bay offers shoppers exclusive fragrances
from YSL's Elle, Dior's Poison and a special Lancome gift with
purchase. With a huge assortment of gift sets, expert consultants
and free gift wrapping, the Bay's cosmetics departments has the
perfect gift solution for any one on your list.

        4. Christmas in the City Event on December 8th in six flagship stores
across the country. With Santa making an appearance, the Christmas
in the City event is sure to entice all the Christmas senses. Have
your photo taken with the big man, or learn the delicate
techniques of cookie decorating with Mrs. Claus all while enjoying
storewide savings; the Bay brings it all to you.

        5. The Bay is spreading festive cheer among children, adults, and
even technology buffs, with the latest Christmas window technology
from IBM. For the first time ever, the Bay's famous Christmas
windows could include your image. Using new technology from IBM, a
high-tech sensor will capture the image of a passers-by and
project it into the window. The results can also be printed on a
4x6 holiday postcard compliments of the Bay. The windows at both
the downtown Toronto and Vancouver locations are using the IBM
developed technology as a part of their Christmas displays. With
its hi-tech sensor capability, the system reacts when it senses a
           customer touching the graphic display.

"Giving is our theme. No matter what you're looking for, even if it's
just a little holiday fun, you will find it at the Bay," said Gord Sonnenberg,
Senior Vice President, Merchandise Operations.
