World's Largest Package Delivery Company Ready To Handle The Rush
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Dec. 17 /CNW/ - With 100 years experience managing
holiday volume, UPS is set to deliver more than 22 million packages worldwide
on its peak day, Wednesday, Dec. 19.
The UPS network is designed to handle the needs of all shippers,
including procrastinators. UPS recommends the following tips to ensure
stress-free shipping this holiday season:
1. Know your shipping deadlines: It's a busy time of year and 'to do'
lists grow by the minute. Ship holiday packages as early as possible.
Customers can ship within Canada and to the United States using UPS's
Express air services as late as Friday, Dec. 21. For those sending gifts
overseas, packages can be shipped using UPS's Express air services as
late as December 18 or 19, depending on the destination country. UPS
recommends shippers check UPS.com(R) to verify time-in-transit for their
particular shipping destination.
2. Take it to the packaging experts at The UPS Store(R): With more than
300 locations across Canada, The UPS Store offers access to specially
trained and certified packaging experts who make holiday shipping easy.
To find store locations, information on products and services, hours of
operation, directions and maps, visit www.TheUPSStore.ca.
3. Track your shipment: UPS provides tracking technology on UPS.com to
make it easy for customers to monitor the movement of their gifts in
real time. UPS expects more than 150 million tracking requests during
peak week, the week before the holidays, Dec. 17 - 21.
4. Not enough time? Process shipments online: For the handy, do-it-
yourself types, UPS offers a fast and easy Internet shipping option at
UPS.com. Customers can select their preferred time of delivery, pay by
credit card, print shipping labels and track packages. Once the label is
placed on the package, a customer can hand the package to a UPS driver,
arrange for a special pickup or drop it off at any of the 1,102 UPS
Canada shipping locations (drop off boxes, shipping centres, retail
stores and authorized shipping outlets).
For 100 years, UPS has been delivering holiday cheer from around the
corner to more than 200 countries and territories across the globe. To find
the nearest UPS location or additional holiday packing and shipping
information, visit www.UPS.com or call 1-800-PICK-UPS.
