TORONTO, June 28 /CNW/ - As many companies get set for summer hours -
Friday afternoons off... hip hip hurrah!!! - The Toronto Humane Society is
instituting its own Summer Hours. Beginning Friday, June 29, the adoption
hours at the THS are EXTENDED on Friday evenings by an extra two hours to
9 p.m. The standard adoption hours are Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and
Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. But as of the 29th, the adoption
doors will stay open until 9 p.m. on Fridays.
"We believe the extra two hours will give people a chance to come here on
a Friday, pick out the animal of their dreams, and still have the entire
weekend left to bond with the new pet," explains THS senior communicator Lee
Oliver. "Time is precious," he continues, "and if we can help you avoid giving
up a Saturday or Sunday by staying open late on Friday, and that window of
opportunity is enough to let you get down to the shelter and give a new home
to a worthy animal, then we all win - you, us and the animals we all love."
The THS Summer Hours will continue until Friday, August 31st.
