Three well-known personalities agree to preside over annual benefit evening for Liberal Party of Canada (Quebec)

    MONTREAL, May 25 /CNW Telbec/ - Three prominent figures from the business
community have agreed to preside over the annual fundraising event for the
Liberal Party of Canada (Quebec), which will culminate in an address by
Michael Ignatieff, leader of the Official Opposition and leader of the Liberal
Party of Canada. The event will take place at the Sheraton Hotel in Montreal
on Thursday, June 4, beginning at 6 p.m.
    Hélène Desmarais, well known in Montreal's philanthropic, cultural and
business circles, L. Jacques Ménard, OC, chairman of the board of BMO Nesbitt
Burns and president of BMO Financial Group, Quebec, and Pierre Roy, president
of Chaînes Télé Astral and member of the management committee of Astral Media
Inc. have decided to join forces to preside over this year's benefit.
    Several hundred guests are expected to attend this highly prestigious
benefit evening, which has been held annually for more than 20 years. All
members of the Quebec caucus and distinguished guests from other provinces
will also attend this important event.
