Industrial, commercial and agricultural properties and over
2,300 equipment items also to be sold in Edmonton, AB
EDMONTON, Nov. 27 /CNW/ - On December 13, a total of 56 residential
leasehold properties in Thomson Lake Regional Park, Saskatchewan, will be sold
to the highest bidders - regardless of price - at an unreserved Ritchie Bros.
auction in Edmonton, Alberta. The fully serviced home sites, including 10 with
lake frontage and 20 with lake views, are located near Gravelbourg on
picturesque Thomson Lake, 200 km southwest of Regina. The unreserved public
auction also features several industrial, commercial and agricultural
properties in Alberta, as well as more than 2,300 heavy equipment items.
Ritchie Bros., the world's largest industrial auctioneer, will sell the
properties on December 13, 2007 during day one of a two-day auction at its
permanent sale site in Edmonton. Interested buyers can bid on the Thomson Lake
leasehold properties in person at the Edmonton auction; by proxy bid; in real
time over the internet using the Company's online bidding service,
rbauctionBid-Live; or during a live auction simulcast at Parrish Hall in
"Opportunities like this don't come around very often," said Kieran Holm,
Ritchie Bros. Area Manager. "These residential leasehold sites are ideal for
someone who is looking for lakeside recreational property - or a home away
from the fast pace of city life. I would encourage any interested buyers to
register to bid in our upcoming Edmonton auction - because these sites will be
sold to the highest bidders on December 13, with no minimum bids or reserve
Thomson Lake, Saskatchewan's first regional park, offers an abundance of
recreational activities at the adjacent lake and golf course. The Thomson Lake
residential/recreational community is already home to more than 100 cabins,
with a mix of year-round and seasonal residents. The fully serviced leasehold
sites being sold in the upcoming auction are each approximately 50' X 130'.
The lease was recently renewed with three consecutive renewable 10-year terms.
"Thomson Lake is a destination resort," said Wayne Erickson, Thomson Lake
Park Administrator. "It offers fishing, boating, swimming, camping, and a
beautiful nine-hole green grass golf course, and all the services you need are
close by in the surrounding communities. It's a relaxing place to live or
visit. We chose to sell these sites by unreserved auction because it's fair -
everyone has an equal opportunity to buy."
The other properties being sold in the auction are all located in Alberta
and include: 320+/- acres of agricultural/recreational land in Stettler
County, near Red Deer; a 14-unit apartment building in Grassland, close to the
highway that connects Edmonton and Fort McMurray; 52.7+/- acres of commercial
property with exceptional highway visibility in Peace River; and two heavy
industrial properties, with shops, in Coronation.
The unreserved auction starts at 8 a.m. on Thursday, December 13 and
Friday, December 14, 2007, at the Ritchie Bros. auction site in Edmonton (1500
Sparrow Drive, Nisku). Properties will be sold on Day One (December 13). Like
all Ritchie Bros. auctions, the sale will be completely unreserved - meaning
there are no minimum bids or reserve prices. Every item is sold to the highest
bidder on sale day, regardless of price. Registration is free. Further details
