Thermal Energy (TSX-V:TMG) Assures Canadian Industry Short Term Emissions Targets Totally Achievable Through Thermal's Self Funding Technologies

OTTAWA, April 27 /CNW Telbec/ - Thermal Energy International Inc.
(TSX-V:TMG) (, is pleased to confirm to Canadian
Industry that both short and long term emissions reduction targets announced
by the Conservative Government yesterday are realistic targets that can be
achieved or exceeded through Thermal's current technologies such as our award
winning Flu-Ace(R), Dry-Rex(TM) and GEM(R) technology solutions. The
Government plans are a good first step in providing clear and realistic
targets for industry to achieve.
Typical emission reductions ranging from 10% to 45% are achieved today
with Thermal's technologies while also yielding attractive financial returns.
Implementation of our Technologies not only achieves the emission reduction
percentages called for under the new plan, but in addition, industry can
significantly improve financial performance as a result of implementation.
"Many of Thermal's past and present customers are achieving emission
reductions equal to or in excess of the 18% short term emission reduction
targets which the new plan calls for," said Tim Angus, Thermal Energy
President and CEO. "Meeting these new limits is not only achievable, but like
many of our customers, others in industry can achieve significant improvements
to their bottom line by implementing our technology to achieve the emission
    Thermal's Flu-Ace(R), Dry-Rex(TM) and GEM(R) technologies typically
provide a return on investment of around 2 years, paid for through fuel
savings and sometimes even eliminate fossil fuel consumption altogether. That
means, if industry acts now to implement these technologies, not only can the
required reductions be achieved well within the 3 year timeframe established,
they will be producing positive cash-flow from the investment within that same
period through permanent reductions in fuel consumption. These solutions can
in turn subsidize future improvements required under the conservative
government's new plan.
"Businesses that implement our solutions can turn short term regulatory
compliance requirements into a sustainable competitive advantage," said Mr.
Dramatic fuel and emission reductions have been demonstrated very
effectively by Thermal's technologies for Fortune 100 customers in the Food
and Beverage Sector, Forest Products, various heavy industries and municipal
and institutional sectors.
