The Region of Calabria takes centre stage for Italian Week 2009

    OTTAWA, June 9 /CNW Telbec/ - The President of the Italian Week Joe Cama
officially unveiled the program for the 35th edition of the Italian Week of
Ottawa. "It is a very exciting program full of activities for every age and
taste" Mr. Cama said. "Every year we propose a theme and this year's theme
will be to celebrate the culture, the music, the arts and the food of the
Region of Calabria" added Mr. Cama.
    The Italian Week of Ottawa is a well-established cultural and social
festival in the National Capital Region for the last 35 years. Activities will
take place from June 11 to 21. On Thursday June 11, Italian week 2009 will be
launched from the Ottawa Police Station. All residents of the National Capital
Region are cordially invited to participate. Over a hundred and fifty thousand
people participate to the various activities of the Festival.

    The Italian Week Program is the result of a cooperative effort between
the Italian Week organizers and many other cultural and professional
organizations, associations, the City of Ottawa, Ottawa Police, Ottawa Fire
Dept and many others all listed in the attached annex. The Executive Committee
of the Italian Week is very grateful for the support it has received for this
edition from all the sponsors and from all the organization that have
