The Montréal Biodôme welcomes its 14 millionth visitor!

    MONTREAL, Aug. 29 /CNW Telbec/ - Today, at about 11:05 a.m., the Montréal
Biodôme's 14 millionth visitor came through its doors. Mr. Tate, accompanied
by his children, Marika and Will (4 and 7 years old), was surprised and
delighted to receive a number of gifts inspired by the Fatal Attraction
exhibition, a special behind the scenes tour, the privilege of feeding the
fish in the huge St. Lawrence Marine ecosystem basin under the supervision of
a diver, and tickets to the Montréal Nature Museums. The Ottawa family will
also be able to come back and visit the Biodôme as often as they like this
year, thanks to a free membership offered by the Friends of the Biodôme.
Rachel Léger, Director of the Biodôme, and her team were naturally on
hand to welcome these special visitors and take them on a tour along the path
through the ecosystems and behind the scenes. "It's a great way to thank our
visitors and mark our fifteenth anniversary!" said Ms. Léger. Every year, the
institution attracts close to 850,000 visitors, including thousands of young
people. "The secret to our success over the past fifteen years? The
educational and environmental messages conveyed by the Biodôme, and our
emphasis on promoting environmentally responsible behaviour, all appeal to
Montréal families, school groups and tourists from other places," noted the
Director.
The party will be continuing all day long! The Friends of the Biodôme are
inviting all visitors to enter a draw for an annual membership, as a way of
marking the Biodôme's fifteenth anniversary. What a great way to thank
everyone who cares about nature conservation and enjoys visiting this "house
of life" and the fantastic journey through the four "ecosystems" at the
Biodôme.
A great big thank you to the Biodôme's 14 million visitors and a warm
welcome to the millions yet to come!
