    Official Opening Session

    To kick off HealthAchieve2008, Gen. Rick Hillier (Retired) will join the
Honourable Jean Chrétien, two great Canadian leaders, to talk with delegates
about leadership in Canada, drawing from their experiences as leaders on the
world stage.

    -  Gen. Rick Hillier (Retired) was appointed Chief of the Defence staff
       in 2005, becoming one of the most prominent Canadian military leaders
       in more than a quarter century. He will talk about the challenges and
       responsibilities of being a leader, sharing insights on the
       transformation of Canada's Armed Forces.
    (Note: General Hillier's presentation will begin at 9:15 a.m.)

    -  As a leader, the Honouarable Jean Chrétien has engaged audiences over
       the years with his charismatic speaking style, which he will bring
       with him to HealthAchieve, sharing his insight and experiences on
       leadership that he has gained through his years of experience at the

    -  Dr. Mehmet Oz is a heart surgeon by profession. However, his career
       has taken him down diverse paths and into the homes and hearts of
       millions of television viewers as the health expert on The Oprah
       Winfrey Show. At HealthAchieve, he will talk about how to improve
       health and deliver insights on how to better effect positive change in

    Rural and Northern Health Care Session
    2:00 - 4:30 p.m., Rooms 105, 106 & 107 Constitution Hall - MTCC

    -  The Rt. Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, former Governor General of
       Canada from 1999 to 2005, will speak about her experiences travelling
       the country promoting Canadian culture, bilingualism and the arts with
       passion and imagination. Drawing on her best-selling autobiography
       Heart Matters, she will share stories to inspire those living around
       and working in rural and northern communities.
    (Note: The Honourable Adrienne Clarkson's presentation will begin at
    2:05 p.m.)

    -  Dr. Nick Bontis, a leading strategy and management expert who will
       empower delegates to build their brainpower and maintain a sustainable
       competitive edge in their careers. His expertise has been tapped by
       several Fortune 500 companies and he is an award-winning and tenured
       professor of strategy.

    Closing Theme Session
    8:15 a.m - 11:30 a.m., Rooms 105, 106 & 107 Constitution Hall - MTCC

    This session will feature a host of prominent health care leaders.
Beginning with Professor Uwe Reinhardt, a leading health care economist from
Princeton University, and then moving to local experts, including Tom Closson,
President and CEO of the Ontario Hospital Association, and The Honourable
David Caplan, Ontario's Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, the session
will look to the promise of Ontario's health care system.

    -  Uwe Reinhardt will address questions that all modern nations wrestle
       with in their efforts to provide the best value possible from the
       resources allocated to individual health systems.
    (Note: Professor Reinhardt's presentation will begin at 9:00 a.m.)

    -  Tom Closson will offer his perspective on the future of Ontario
       hospitals and the sustainability of the provincial health care system.
       Drawing on his extensive health care background as well as on his own
       personal experiences with the health system, Closson will make the
       case for change and provide a blueprint for the future.
    (Note: Tom Closson's presentation will begin at 10:00 a.m.)

    -  The Honourable David Caplan, Ontario Minister of Health and Long-Term
       Care will update delegates on the Government of Ontario's health
       initiatives. As the new leader of Ontario's health system, Minister
       Caplan will share his insights and perspectives on Ontario's health
       care system and its future.
    (Note: Minister Caplan's presentation will begin at approximately
    10:45 a.m.)
