MONTREAL, Oct. 2 /CNW Telbec/ - Again this year, there will be a haunting
time to be had at the Great Halloween Fright Fest at La Ronde every weekend
during October. To close out its 40th anniversary season in grand style, for
the sixth straight season La Ronde will offer a truly startling setting and
terrifying entertainment throughout the park grounds, which will be completely
transformed and filled with more than 50 talented entertainers.
Dr Von Terror's psychiatric Hospital is back for the 4th year
This year, Docteur Von Terreur's experimental psychiatric Hospital will
be managed in dubious fashion by a new administration. Located in the
Mégadôme, the Hospital will be staffed by horrific characters who will do
everything in their power to frighten silly any poor soul who dares enter. A
first-aid station will also be set up and medical personnel will attend to
patients waiting in line as reptilian specimens contribute to the chilling
The Vampire Walkway
Located in the main walkway, La Promenade des Vampires is always a highly
appreciated attraction. The Queen, the King and their full aristocratic
vampire entourage will be under the influence of a mysterious intolerant
spirit. Every bit as haughty and pompous as ever, these dastardly creatures
will carry out their devilishly Machiavellian plots to frighten all visitors
out of their minds.
Zombies will also give la Ronde visitors thrills and chills during the
Halloween festivities. Having survived a chemical spill during an extreme-
skiing adventure, these living dead will haunt the area near the Spirale ride.
Back for a third straight year, Ratville will be located at the main
entrance. Visitors arriving at La Ronde will be greeted by this charming
colony of rodents, which will stage a number of incredible scenes.
Continuous entertainment throughout the site
As part of the Great Halloween Celebration, fabulous entertainment will
be presented in different sections of La Ronde. Every Saturday, the Dragons
Noirs troupe will delight visitors to the medieval village with various games,
including Le Merelle, Le Talus and dice-throwing. They will also perform
assorted forms of medieval combat and dance. Pierre-Olivier Cyr, the Master of
hypnosis, will enthrall his audiences at Fort Edmonton while Les Percutrash
will perform close by Docteur Von Terreur's psychiatric Hospital.
Shows for childrens
Le Pays de Ribambelle will also be transformed for the occasion.
Ribambelle will entertain the little ones with his friends Potiron, Courgette,
Ratatouille and the nasty Comte Encombre. At the same location, the friendly
gourds will present two stirring musical. Again this year, kids can get their
faces painted and candies will be handed out at the exit of the rides in Le
Pays de Ribambelle, as well as at the end of shows.
