Winning Gold is Only a Click Away
TORONTO, Aug. 7 /CNW/ - The Globe and Mail, the Official National
Newspaper for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, is
giving Canadians a unique opportunity to compete for a trip for two to the
Opening Ceremony in Vancouver.
The contest, which begins on August 7 and runs until August 23, invites
Canadians to guess where Canadian Olympians will place in each of the daily
sporting events at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Correct guesses earn
participants ballots for the contest and a greater chance of winning the
amazing prizes listed below:
- Gold/Grand Prize: Consists of an exclusive four day Globe and Mail
Gold Medal Package for two to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in
Vancouver, British Columbia. The trip includes round trip economy
airfare for two; transportation from the airport to the hotel, three
nights accommodation at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, plus two
tickets to the Opening Ceremony for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter
Games. Winners also receive a pair of tickets per day for two days
for one sporting event and $1,000 CAD spending money.
- Silver Prizes: Participants have a chance to win one of five
Panasonic 42" high definition Plasma televisions, with a
manufacturer's suggested retail price of $1,599.
- Bronze Prizes: Thirty Bronze prizes are up for grabs, each consisting
of an HBC clothing package. The package includes T-shirts,
sweatshirts, scarves and other accessories. Approximate retail value
