The Caisse de dépôt et placement puts an end to its examination work regarding the privatization of BCE



    MONTREAL, June 26 /CNW Telbec/ - The Caisse de dépôt et placement du
Québec has withdrawn from the consortium formed last April 17 that has
undertaken steps to proceed to the privatization of BCE Inc.

    The Caisse de dépôt et de placement au Québec is a financial institution
that manages funds mainly for pension and insurance plans in the public and
private sectors. As at December 31, 2006, the Caisse's net assets under
management were worth 143.5 billion dollars. Among the top institutional
managers in Canada, the Caisse invests in the major financial markets as well
as in private equity and in real estate.
