The Beer Store reaches tentative labour agreement with UFCW Local 12R24

    MISSISSAUGA, ON, March 31 /CNW/ - The Beer Store and Local 12R24 of the
United Food and Commercial Workers, representing 6,000 employees across the
province, reached a tentative agreement on Sunday, March 30, 2008, for a
renewed five-year labour contract.
    No terms of the tentative agreement will be released pending completion
of the union's ratification process.

    The Beer Store is the primary distribution and sales channel for beer in
Ontario, operating 441 retail stores, and serving 17,500 licensed customers,
600 government-owned LCBO retail locations, 141 Retail Partners, and
82 Northern Agents. Customers can choose from more than 330 beer brands from
over 75 brewers from around the world. The Beer Store is proud of its 80-year

bottle-deposit-return system and commitment to recover 100% of beer packaging,
as well as all wine and spirit containers through the Ontario Deposit Return
