Extend a helping hand to the homeless in communities across Canada
CANADA, Feb. 4 /CNW/ - Times are tough - especially for the homeless.
This year, more than ever, Raising the Roof needs your support for our annual
Toque Campaign. The campaign raises money to help fund agencies that provide
shelter, food, job training and other supports in communities across Canada.
Campaign proceeds also contribute to our ultimate goal - to bring about
long-term solutions to homelessness. We would like to thank the thousands of
volunteers from across Canada who came out to participate in Toque Tuesday,
our National Public Awareness Day on February 3rd. There is still time for you
to make a difference. The Toque Campaign runs until the end of February.
How can you help? Take the "Ten-Toque Challenge". Order ten of our warm,
stylish, Canadian-made toques for a donation of $100. Keep one and pass on
nine to deserving friends or fellow supporters. The toques are an easy way to
make a difference in the lives of the estimated 200,000 homeless men, women,
youth and children across Canada.
The difference your Ten-Toques order can make
- For 16-year-old Cindy, struggling to finish school while living on the
streets, it represents a hot lunch every day for a month.
- For Dillon, trying to hold down his first job and pay rent, it's a
monthly bus pass.
- For Indra, it's a night at a shelter for her and her child.

Raising the Roof is Canada's only national charity dedicated to long-term
solutions to homelessness.
