Take a Leap of Faith for kids with facial differences

    TORONTO, May 28 /CNW/ - Announcing "Leap of Faith" - AboutFace's second
annual Skydiving event taking place on July 11 and July 18, 2009 in eight
cities across Canada. Individual supporters, corporate teams, friends and
family of AboutFace leap out of an airplane to raise awareness and money to
support the AboutFace Camp Trailblazers, a unique and wonderful place for kids
ages 10 to 17 with facial differences.
Camp Trailblazers challenges these kids to test their abilities, gain
trust in new people and develop improved self-image in a safe, fun, team
environment centered on the great outdoors. Best of all, they create life long
friendships with others who share similar experiences. "In the eyes and faces
of these children we see a beautiful spirit that transcends their facial
differences. Camp Trailblazers is about teaching kids to keep that spirit
alive their whole lives," says AboutFace Executive Director Anna Pileggi.

Founded in 1985, AboutFace works to provide emotional and social support,
resources and educational programs for people with facial differences and
their families. Living with a facial difference is a social disability that
affects over 1.5 million Canadians.
