Distribution consolidation of aftermarket products designed to
increase operational and cost efficiencies for XM Canada
TORONTO, Jan. 14 /CNW/ - XM Canada (TSX:XSR), the country's leading
satellite radio company, today announced that SYNNEX Canada will become the
exclusive supplier of aftermarket XM satellite radio products.
Under the agreement, SYNNEX Canada, a leading distributor of technology
products, will provide warehousing, distribution, logistics and related
services for XM Canada, distributing radios manufactured by Audiovox and
Pioneer and other aftermarket products.
"XM Canada is excited to be working with the leading distributor of
consumer technology products in Canada," said Janet Gillespie, marketing vice
president at XM Canada. "By consolidating our distribution, we are leveraging
SYNNEX's exceptional reputation and marketing and sales force expertise to
grow our revenues. At the same time, XM Canada is reducing our supply chain
costs and improving business process efficiencies as part of our overall
corporate plan to strategically trim costs from our business."
"We are thrilled to partner with a strong brand like XM Canada. This
expansion into the growing satellite radio category is another step in SYNNEX
Canada's ongoing strategy to expand into adjacent markets, bringing greater
opportunity for our reseller partners and more customers for our
manufacturers" said Mark Hardy, Vice President of Product Management at SYNNEX
Canada. "Combining our strong retail relationships and logistic abilities with
