Sweet Charity! Earls Restaurants Holiday Bear Campaign Raises Funds to benefit Children's Hospitals

    Award-winning Chocolatier Thomas Haas creates the Earls 10th Anniversary

    NORTH VANCOUVER, Nov. 26 /CNW/ - Earls is celebrating the 10th year of
its annual fundraiser, the Holiday Bear Campaign with a new and improved bear.
The Chocolate Hazelnut Bears created by North Vancouver's Thomas Haas Fine
Chocolates, will be available for $3.50 during the month of December at each
of Earls 53 restaurants located in Canada and the United States.
    The fund raising goal for this year is $75,000. It will be donated to the
Children's Hospital Foundation or Children's Charity in each community where
Earls operates. Over the past ten years, they have raised over $470,000,
thanks to the generosity of Earls' customers.
    "Earls is dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve," says
Stanley Fuller, CEO, Earls Restaurants Ltd. "Christmas is a special time of
year for children, and we can't think of a better way to celebrate the spirit
of Christmas than by helping brighten a child's future."
    Earls launched the Bear program with Gingerbear cookies in December 1998
and has been selling the Bears every year since then to raise funds for local
Children's Hospital Foundations. To mark the 10th anniversary, they teamed up
with Thomas Haas, named as one of the top pastry chefs in North America, to
produce a handcrafted bittersweet chocolate and toasted hazelnut Bear. The
Bears will be available at every Earls location as of December 1st.
