GuestLogix allows passengers on thirty-minute flights to benefit from its
on-board full retail service capability
STOCKHOLM, Sweden and TORONTO, Jan. 29 /CNW/ - The Skyways Group today
entered into a multi-year agreement with Canadian company GuestLogix
(TSX-V:GXI), for the provision of their Mobile Virtual Store(TM) on-board
technology, that includes wireless POS devices and application service to
assist Skyways' attendants with on-board sales transactions and enhance
Skyways' in-flight service. The deal was secured in co-operation with Klarago
AB, a Swedish airline caterer and wholly owned subsidiary of the Compass Group
The new technology will be fully deployed across Skyways' aircraft by the
end of this month to allow a full buy-on-board service, even on Skyways'
short-haul flights lasting thirty minutes. The GuestLogix solution allows
Skyways to offer food, beverages and gifts and accept cash in multiple
currencies or credit card payments. GuestLogix' unique technology and
attendant interface are particularly suited for short flights which are often
difficult to fully service. During 2006, Skyways served 850,000 passengers on
18 domestic and 3 international routes.
Commenting on the deal, Klarago's Managing Director, Pontus Akesson said:
"Today's agreement will mean Skyways can secure additional profitable
