(TSX/NYSE: SLF) announced today that Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada completed the sale of its life reinsurance business to Berkshire Hathaway Life Co. of Nebraska on December 31, 2010. The agreement to sell the business was announced on October 27, 2010.
The transaction reflects Sun Life Financial's strategy to focus its activities and deploy capital to key businesses that can best achieve strong, sustainable growth for the Company.
