Stikine Acquires Northeast BC Silica Claims

VANCOUVER, June 2 /CNW/ - Stikine Gold Corporation (SKY:TSX.V) (the
"Company") announces that it has staked 153 mineral claims covering silica
occurrences in north eastern British Columbia. The properties consist of a
total of 62,255 hectares and are located in two broad areas; north west of
Fort Nelson and north east of Prince George.
The Company has acquired a 100% interest in these claims by map staking
known silica occurrences and prospective geology. An initial field assessment
of the extent and quality of silica on each of the properties is planned for
June 2009. If the results of the initial assessment are positive they will be
used to refine target areas for a larger exploration program.
