TORONTO, Jan. 12 /CNW/ - "Toronto has lost a true champion. Were it not
for Dusty Cohl, the Toronto International Film Festival would not be the same
brilliant success it is today; bringing the entire world of film to our city
to celebrate achievement. His vision was the driving force that created the
festival and he never missed an opportunity to nurture its tremendous growth
and, by extension, Toronto's growth into a multi-faceted world city.
"There is no denying that Dusty Cohl's incredible success played a huge
role in the development of Toronto's own film industry and his
larger-than-life example continues to influence all those drawn to creativity.
"On behalf of Toronto City Council and all Torontonians, I offer sincere
condolences to Dusty's family, friends and everyone who was inspired by this
"He will be missed."
