TORONTO, June 24 /CNW/ - The Spiritual Head of the tens of millions of
Ahmadi Muslims will arrive in Canada on Tuesday June 24, 2008, to partake in
the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the re-establishment of the
institution of the Khilafat (Succession). His Holiness Hadrat Mirza Masroor
Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V (may Allah strengthen his hands), is traveling
across the globe to grace such events and to celebrate with his followers.
Upon his arrival in Canada, he will have completed a similar tour of the USA.
Ahmadi Muslims around the world are celebrating the 100th anniversary of
the establishment of the institution of Khilafat in their community
During his visit to Canada, His Holiness will grace following three
events to be hosted in the Greater Toronto Area:
1. Khilafat Centenary Banquet Dinner with Dignitaries on June 25, 2008
at the Hilton in Markham;
2. 32nd Annual Convention of Canada's Ahmadiyya Muslim Community from
June 27 to June 29, 2008 at the International Centre in Mississauga
(over 20,000 delegates & dignitaries will attend); and
3. Canada Day Celebrations on July 1, 2008 at the Baitul Islam Mosque in
Maple, celebrating that "love of one's country is a part of one's
On July 4, 2008, in Calgary, His Holiness will inaugurate the Baitun Nur
Mosque, one of the largest mosques in North America, with over 48,000 square
feet. This mosque will be inaugurated with the Friday prayer service. On
July 5, 2008, dignitaries from across Canada will be present for a special
reception at Baitun Nur Mosque.
The Right Honourable Prime Minister of Canada and the Right Honourable
Premier of Ontario are two of the dignitaries expected to attend the above
events, as well as representatives of all levels of government, diplomats,
academics and faith and community leaders.
