SpinVox and Rogers Wireless announce launch of voicemail-to-text solution

ATLANTA and TORONTO, Aug. 27 /CNW/ - SpinVox, the world leader in
Voice-to-Screen(TM) messaging, announced today that Rogers Wireless, Canada's
largest wireless data and voice communications services provider, will offer
SpinVox voicemail-to-text service across its network. Starting this fall,
Rogers subscribers will be able to choose to have all their voicemails
converted to text by SpinVox and sent directly to their cell phones as an SMS
message.
SpinVox eliminates the need to check voicemail in the traditional way and
the company anticipates mass-market adoption of its service. SpinVox sends the
SMS along with the number, so the caller can be immediately identified,
enabling customers to instantly respond either by text or phone with just
one-touch.
SpinVox is the only voice-to-text service with multilingual capability,
so Rogers' subscribers can have both their English and French voicemails
converted.
"As Canada's leading provider of data communications services, Rogers
Wireless is always looking to help customers save time with the latest
innovations in mobile communications," said John Boynton, Senior Vice
President and Chief Marketing Officer, Rogers Wireless. "Spinvox provides a
great tool for road warriors when they cannot listen to their voicemail as the
system uses very sophisticated voice to text solutions and delivers with great
accuracy. With the Spinvox solution, users can receive and read messages while
held up in a meeting or on the run and are able to easily document detailed
directions and coordinates."
"This milestone for SpinVox clearly shows our ability to deliver
solutions for North America's leading communications companies and meet the
needs of their customers in the rapidly growing voice messaging market," said
Christina Domecq, SpinVox CEO and co-founder. "Rogers is an innovative pioneer
that recognizes the value of Voice-to-Screen messaging for their customers
across Canada. SpinVox voice messaging simplifies the way people communicate
and that's always the goal at the end of the day."
SpinVox Voicemail-to-Text launched in 2004 and is one of eight
world-first products creating a new category of communications,
Voice-to-Screen. The deal with Rogers Wireless marks its fourth carrier
announcement in North America and SpinVox forecasts a total of 12 announced
deals by the end of 2007, leading to an estimated global subscriber base of
six million in the first quarter of 2008. Rogers has the largest wireless
network in Canada, reaching 94% of the population.
