Special invitation to sports reporters - 2008 CN-CCAA Men's National Basketball Championship - Basketball fever starts today!

    SAINT-LAMBERT, QC, March 10 /CNW Telbec/ - The Canadian Colleges Athletic
Association (CCAA) and Champlain College Saint-Lambert, the official host of
the 2008 Championship, invite you to what promises to be a thrilling event you
won't want to miss: an exhibition game (practice) between two of the eight
best teams slated to battle it out for the title of 2008 Men's National
College Basketball Champion.
    The game will take place on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at 10:45 a.m. in
the gym at Champlain College (900 Riverside Street, Saint-Lambert).
    Media will take in some high-level performances and also have the chance
to talk to star players, coaches, and officials from the Canadian Colleges
Athletic Association.


    10:20 a.m. - Arrival and reception of media
    10:45 a.m. - Ceremony: speeches and official opening of the Championship
                 (First basket with photo shoot)
    11 a.m. -    Exhibition game
    12 p.m. -    Individual interviews (players, officials)

    The Men's National Basketball Championship is a major national event,
held under the banner of the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA).
This is the sole coordinating body for men's and women's college sport in
Canada. Interprovincial competition was initiated in 1971, when colleges in
British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba joined forces to form
the 4-West Championships, offering competitions in seven sports. The Canadian
Colleges Athletic Association was founded in 1974.
