VAL-D'OR, QC, April 9 /CNW Telbec/ - South-Malartic Exploration Inc.
(TSXV-MSU) is pleased to announce the discovery of a new gold bearing
structure in the Piedra Rodante (PR) sector within the Natora property in the
Sierra Madre gold belt in Mexico. Ongoing sampling and detailed mapping have
identified a second silicified Au-Ag bearing structure located 360 metres
north-east of drill hole PR06-01. This new structure has been traced over 500
metres on a north-west strike towards the main PR north-south structure. The
channel sampling across the new structure returned 4 meters of 1.89 g/t Au and
118 g/t Ag.
The Au-Ag grade and mineralogy suggest that the new silicified structure
and the main PR structure originate from the same source, the north-west
orientation further indicating the possibility that the two structures
Work in progress
At Piedra Rodante, 29.5 kilometers of line cutting have been completed in
preparation for the upcoming 49.5 line-kilometer IP-Mag survey which is
scheduled to begin shortly. Over 5 kilometers of roads have been laid as
bulldozers continue to forge access roads to the main areas.
At the southern portion of the Cusalito area, 9 kilometers south of
Piedra Rodante, an extensive soil sampling program is underway which has
outlined to date an area of 1 km by 3 km containing anomalous Cu-Ag-Zn-Pb
values. This survey will help define the targets for the next drilling
The samples referred to above were sent to the ALS Chemex preparation
laboratory in Hermosillo. Fire assays of 50 gram pulp samples (Au-AA26)
finalized with atomic absorption were performed at the ALS Chemex laboratory
in Vancouver. Malarsur, the Company's wholly-owned subsidiary, instituted a
quality control program for insertion of standards. Richard Dufresne, P. Geo.,
