Sounds Of The Mill - Heard For The 1st Time Since Its Final Day Of Operation

BRITANNIA BEACH, BC, April 15 /CNW/ - The BC Museum of Mining has
launched a new program "Gateways to Our Past" celebrating BC's heritage and
mining history. Offering more visitor access and interaction, the Museum is
providing audio guides allowing visitors to experience stories and sounds of
the historic Mill and other areas of an industrial site.
Listen to sounds and stories of the historic 1923 Mill as you view this
massive historic structure through a new glass barrier. The hand-powered audio
guides reflect the museum's commitment to the environment and sustainability.
The other audio guides located at the entrance to a mining tunnel and
overlooking Howe Sound provide more stories and a welcome message from
Squamish Nation.
This program was funded by a grant from the BC 150 Heritage Legacy Fund.

The BC Museum of Mining is a National Historic Site offering guided
tours, exhibits, gold panning and more.
