Some downtown streets will be closed on Wednesday, October 8 for Centraide's march of 1,000 umbrellas

    Business leaders as well as arts and sports personalities will join
    thousands of volunteers, donors and agency representatives in marching to
    demonstrate their solidarity with our neediest fellow citizens.

    MONTREAL, Oct. 6 /CNW Telbec/ - On account of Centraide's March of 8,000
Umbrellas, which kicks off Centraide of Greater Montreal's 2008 Campaign,
kindly note that on Wednesday, October 8, downtown streets will be closed to
traffic as follows:

    McGill College Avenue (west side), between President Kennedy Avenue and
    Ste. Catherine Street, will be closed to traffic from 10:30 a.m. to
    1:30 p.m.

    St. Catherine Street (between McGill College Avenue and De Bleury Street)
    and De Bleury Street (between Ste. Catherine Street and René-Lévesque
    Boulevard) will be closed to traffic from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There
    will be no parking along this route from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

    IMPORTANT: While informing your audience of these changes, don't miss the
    opportunity of inviting them to join the some 15,000 marchers who will
    participate in this colourful event! Everyone will start to assemble at
    11:30 a.m. on McGill College Avenue at the corner of Ste. Catherine
    Street. The march will begin at 12:00 noon and proceed to De Bleury
    Street, corner of René-Lévesque (grounds adjacent to the Théâtre du
    Gesù), for the unveiling of the campaign goal.
