Softchoice Named One of Canada's "Best Workplaces" for Second Year Running

TORONTO, April 24 /CNW/ - Softchoice Corporation (TSX: SO) is delighted
to announce it has been named to Canadian Business Magazine's 2007 list of the
"Best Workplaces in Canada" for the second year in a row. Using the same
methodology that serves as the basis for Fortune magazine's annual list of the
100 Best Places to Work For in America, the annual award recognizes employers
across the country with exemplary workplace environments. Considered the 'gold
standard' for evaluating workplace culture, companies that have been
recognized by this model have been shown to consistently outperform their
peers on the stock market over the long run.
Softchoice was selected for the award after an in-depth review of its
workplace practices and a detailed external survey called the 'Trust Index'
that was completed by a random selection of the company's employees.
"Being named one of Canada's Top 50 Workplaces is a tremendous honor
because it is based largely on employee feedback" said Dave MacDonald,
President and CEO of Softchoice. "We've invested time and resources into
enhancing the employee experience at Softchoice because we recognize that our
sustained growth is dependent on having our people grow along with us."
The award places emphasis on high levels of trust, pride, and camaraderie
within an organization's corporate culture as well as strong relationships
that bind employees with each other, with their managers, and with customers.
"Trust is an important element in any workplace culture, and it starts
with management", says Mr. MacDonald. "If you trust your employees, they'll
trust you in return. We believe that fostering an environment of trust allows
employees to realize their full potential which, in turn, helps the company
reach its goals."
As one of North America's leading technology suppliers, having a
knowledgeable, dedicated, and energetic team is critical to Softchoice's
continued success. That's why Softchoice puts a premium on investing in its
people. Every year, Softchoice employees receive several in-depth training
opportunities including product and technical instruction, and the chance to
participate in the company's Management Development course called "Leading
People's Success". In addition, graduates of Softchoice's Morpheus leadership
development program are given the opportunity to join the Softchoice Cares
board, which is responsible for guiding Softchoice's philanthropic activities.
Softhoice also offers a modern, dog-friendly work environment where employees
can participate in fun and exciting social events year-round.
Mr MacDonald added, "We will continue to invest in the number one reason
Softchoice has become the reseller of choice for thousands of organizations
across North America - our people."
