MONTREAL, Oct. 30 /CNW Telbec/ - Sofame Technologies (TSX-V: SDW), a
leading Montreal-based manufacturer of commercial-industrial heat recovery
equipment, has received an order from Stoermer Industrial Energy Systems to
custom engineer a Percotherm(TM) condensing heat recovery system to be
installed in a Michigan plant of a producer of name-brand foods.
The order, which is the first of several in the planning stages with
Stoermer IES, is scheduled for rapid delivery, as early as December 2008.
There are presently 23 Sofame units operating in food processing plants across
The Sofame Percotherm(TM) is a direct-contact condensing stack economizer
that recovers residual heat contained in a boiler's flue gas and transfers the
heat to a cold water stream. Hot water is produced at temperatures as high as
140 degrees F (60 degrees C).
John Gocek, President and CEO of Sofame Technologies, said "Sofame and
Stoermer-IES worked closely with the end-user and their consulting engineers,
Thermal Tech Engineering of Cincinnati, to custom design and engineer this
energy saving project. Increasing thermal plant efficiency and reducing
greenhouse gas emissions are what Sofame's products are known for."
SOFAME Technologies Inc. custom engineers and manufactures unique,
high-efficiency direct-contact heat recovery and hot water heating systems.
Sofame's products extract up to 99% of heat from flue gases depending on the
application, and also from wastewater, and return the energy in the form of
high temperature hot water or pre-heated make-up air. In addition to
economically recovering heat from waste energy, Sofame's products also help
customers to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Using world
leading, patented green technology, Sofame serves building owners, industrial,
institutional and commercial markets through a network of dedicated
