Skyservice Airlines announces arrival of first round trip scheduled service to Belgrade

    TORONTO, June 20 /CNW/ - With the return to Toronto last night of
Flight 863 from Belgrade, Serbia Skyservice airlines completed the first of
its newly launched direct scheduled services from Toronto to Eastern Europe.
    The round trip to Belgrade operated flawlessly, staffed with crew members
fluent in Serbian and other Eastern European languages.
    "These flights represent the most direct and fastest routing from
anywhere in North America with connections through Toronto." said Rob Giguere,
President and COO of Skyservice Airlines who saw the first flight off Monday
night. "It was clear from the passengers on the first flight that there is an
excitement in the Serbian community with Skyservice offering direct service
from Canada. We are looking forward to these scheduled routes becoming a
popular vacation choice for travelers seeking an interesting and well priced
vacation option to Europe."
    Russ Payson, Chairman and CEO of Skyservice Airlines who travelled on
board the first flight to Belgrade was met with an enthusiastic welcome at the
airport followed by a reception at the Canadian Embassy. Mr. Payson said,
"There is no doubt in my mind that our decision to operate scheduled service
to Serbia has been welcomed by the community."
    Skyservice Flight 862 will depart Mondays from Toronto at 23:45 arriving
in Belgrade at 16:05. The return, Flight 863 departs Belgrade Tuesdays at
20:05 arriving Toronto at 01:40.
    Mr. Giguere emphasized that Skyservice has operated charter flights to
several points in Europe for over 10 years and commenced charter service to
Belgrade in 2004.
    The new scheduled service will complement the existing range of services
offered by the carrier.
    "Additionally, we are very pleased with the support we have received from
members of the travel industry who focus on Eastern European travel. Our
booked load factors are high and in fact, our flights departing Canada are
full through to July 9th." Commented Mr. Giguere.
    These new services, operating with Boeing aircraft, will feature
Skyservice's renowned in-flight service, including hot meals and in-flight
