Significant results in Algeria for Cancor Mines

MONTREAL, Dec. 4 /CNW Telbec/ - Cancor Mines is pleased to announce the
results of sampling on its two recently acquired exploration permits in
Algeria. As part of an NI 43-101 evaluation, the Tan Chaffao West and In
Ouzzal North properties were visited recently by engineer and company
president Kamil Khobzi, accompagnied by Michel Lacey, an independent Canadian
consulting geologist with NI 43-101 accreditation, and Messaoud Ouali, an
Algerian geological engineer.
The purpose of the visit was to walk the properties to establish their
boundaries, to locate previous exploration work and to confirm the results
presented in historical reports. The team found nearly all the trenches and
two of the casings from the three holes drilled during previous exploration
work. They also took 16 and seven grab and channel samples from the Tan
Chaffao West and In Ouzzal North properties respectively, from trenches and
outcrops. Visible gold was seen in one of the samples. An NI 43-101 report is
being written by Mr. Lacey and will describe the exploration program to be
conducted on the properties.
The results from the samples taken during the visit confirm the presence
of major gold-bearing mineralization at both projects. The samples were
analysed by fire assaying (FA) and by atomic absorption (AA) at the ALS-Chemex
laboratory in Val d'Or, Québec.

In Ouzzal North property: This gold exploration permit is located in the
Hoggar region, 500 km southwest of Tamanrasset. The site is easily accessible
by light or heavy vehicles, along a paved highway and tracks.
The permit is adjacent to and south of the Amessmessa gold deposit, soon
to be put into production by GMA Resources Plc (GMA), an Australian company
listed on the AIM exchange in London, Measured and indicated resources of the
Amessmessa gold deposit (in compliance with Australia's JORC classification)
for veins 8 and 9 are 1,043,000 tonnes at 12.05 g/T Au, Inferred resources are
810,000 tonnes at 8.0 g/T Au (GMA website, 2007). GMA expects annual
production of 100,000 ounces of gold starting in 2008.
The Ouzzal North permit covers an area of 25,872 hectares (258 km2), with
30 km of it along the In Ouzzal gold-bearing structure that hosts the Tirek
and Amessmessa deposits.
The In Ouzzal gold-bearing structure is marked by a submeridian mylonitic
band 3,000 metres wide, extending about 400 km. A number of gold showings have
been identified along this major shear zone. Previous exploration work in the
acquired perimeter showed a large number of quartz veins, with some providing
significant gold content. The gold, sometimes free, is associated with quartz
veins and stringers accompanied locally by iron oxides and hydroxides, galena
and pyrite. Two showings on the property, Tachamek and Zone B, were prospected

Tan Chaffao West property: This prospection permit is for gold and copper
mineralization. It is located in the Hoggar region, 250 km northwest of the
city of Tamanrasset. The area of the Tan Chaffao permit is 44,580 hectares
(445.8 km2). It is 45 km northwest of the Tan Chaffao East copper-gold
deposit, in a similar geological context. The area is easily accessible by
light or heavy vehicles, along a paved highway and tracks.
Following previous surface exploration work on the site of the zone, a
number of sulphide and altered zones were discovered. Three shallow holes, at
some distance from each other, were drilled on the property in the 1970s.
Cu, Zn, Pb, Au and Ag mineralization is associated with quartz veins and
stringers cross cutting volcanic rocks or included in shear zones. These
mineralized zones extend over distances of 300 to 500 metres and can reach up
to 55 metres in thickness. They are associated with recognized corridors over
more than 20 km in length.
Six particular sectors were studied during previous exploration
campaigns. Values of 1 to 10 g / t of gold and 0.5 % to 3 % copper were
reported. Visible gold was observed locally.

    Quality control

The sampling was conducted by Michel Lacey, a consulting geologist to
Cancor and a qualified person as defined by Canada's National Instrument
43-101. The 23 samples were analysed at the ALS-Chemex laboratory in Val d'Or,
Québec by fire assaying and by atomic absorption, based on industry standards.
