Sid Ryan apologizes

TORONTO, Jan. 7 /CNW/ - CUPE Ontario President Sid Ryan is extending a
public apology for earlier comments in the media comparing bombings by the
Israeli army to actions taken by the Nazis during World War II.
"I was wrong to say what I did," Ryan said. "It was never my intention to
hurt or cause offence to anyone. I was attempting to draw attention to the
terrible bombing of learning institutions. I got caught up in the emotion and
the comparison I used was hurtful and completely beyond the pale."
